Our Trustees

  • Alderman Tim McNally (Chair): Tim has been a Nominative Trustee of the Charity since 2018 and the Chairman of the Board since June 2019. He is Chief Executive of TISL – a company supporting charities with their ICT. He is Chairman of the National Liberal Club. Tim is also a Trustee of the NLC Benevolent Fund, the Surrey Dispensary and is Chair of Governors of Newcomen Collett Educational Foundation. He is Chair of Finance of Southwark Unites Charities and the Wakefield and Tetley Trust. Tim is Chair of Membership of the Worshipful Company of Glaziers where he sits on the Court of Assistants. Tim is also a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of World Traders and the Worshipful Company of Fletchers. He is a Freeman of the City of London and of the Worshipful Company of Insurers. Tim is an Alderman of the London Borough of Southwark and was Deputy Consort to Her Worship the Mayor of Southwark, 2019-20. Tim is Treasurer and on the PCC of St James Bermondsey Church. Tim is a Fellow of the British Computer Society and of the Royal Society of Arts.

  • Father Ben Bell: Fr Ben joined the Board as an ex-officio trustee in September 2023, when he became the Rector of St George the Martyr with St Alphege and St Jude’s. St George’s is a historic landmark (since 1122) and a vibrant world-diverse, inclusive church with deep roots in the local neighbourhood. Ben is a Governor of St Jude’s Church of England Primary School and is also a trustee of the Surrey Dispensary and the Thomas Dickenson Charity. Ben was previously Vicar in the Parish of St Anne Hoxton and prior to ordination, founded and ran a Youth and Community Organisation in Islington and Hackney.

  • Rebekah Bostan (Vice-Chair): Rebekah joined the Board as a Nominative Trustee in 2018. She lives in Bankside, where she is bringing up two children who attend local Southwark schools. Rebekah has been very active in the local community over many years and was the driving force behind the redevelopment of the Mint Street Adventure Playground. She has worked in the global energy field for almost two decades. Having grown up in apartheid South Africa, in a politically active family, she learnt early on the power of both individuals and a group in supporting wholesale cultural change. As an advocate of diversity and inclusion in the workplace she has learnt that to initiate change you require not only passion and drive but also an ability to successful advocate for and implement that change across the organisation.

  • Patrick Crockford: Patrick joined the Board of St George the Martyr Charity as a Co-optative Trustee in March 2023.  He has also been a trustee of Southwark Charities since November 2020, where he is a member of the Finance & General Purposes Committee, and a trustee and Treasurer of the Surrey Dispensary charity. He currently acts an independent examiner (pro bono) for two charities in Southwark: The Parish of Holy Trinity with St Matthew, Southwark, and the Rotherhithe Consolidated Charities. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants, with over 30 years’ experience as a senior accountant in industry, latterly founding and running a telecoms consultancy, which was sold in 2018.  He holds a master's degree from Bayes Business School (City, University of London), majoring in Charity Accounting and Financial Management, with specialist modules on Grant-making, Philanthropy and Social Enterprise. Married, Patrick has lived in Southwark for 17 years and is a Freeman of the City of London.  Also an active member of the Aldgate Ward Club in the City.  He is tri-lingual: English, Maltese, French, with a good working knowledge of Italian and also some Japanese.

  • Amir Eden: Amir was appointed as a Nominative Trustee in 2019. Born in Guy’s Hospital in 1993 he has lived in Bankside all his life and is committed to encouraging active citizenship and promoting sustainable community development. Amir has held many roles in the local public and voluntary sector since 2016. He is currently the Executive Chair of Living Bankside (formerly known as Bankside Residents’ Forum), Company Secretary of Bankside Village, a Trustee of Southwark Cathedral Education Centre, a Governor of Newcomen Collet Foundation, Director of Better Bankside (Business Improvement District) and a Governor of London Nautical School. He was a founder of Bankside Festival Association. Professionally he is also a Legal Consultant, specialising in Corporate Law, International Trade and Taxation.

  • Julie Fox: Julie joined the Board as a Co-optative Trustee in 2022. She was born in North London and moved with her family to South London shortly afterwards where she continues to live. On leaving school, she joined local government studying part-time for her professional qualifications, qualifying as a Chartered Secretary in 1984 and a Chartered MCIPD in 1997. Initially working for several London Boroughs, she then moved to director of education and governance with a range of professional bodies and was recruited as an education specialist to the National Audit Office contributing to and producing numerous VFM reports. Since 2012, Julie has provided freelance company secretarial services to a range of organisations in both the public and private sector and has been Clerk to two City Livery Companies. Away from the City, Julie has been a school governor, worked on the formation and administration of a multi-academy trust, is Clerk to the local almshouse charity, on the PCC and chair of the Friends of her local church, PCC representative on the local pre-school and secretary of the Tennis Committee for her local tennis club. Julie was Clerk to the Trustees of St George the Martyr Charity from 1999 to 2004.

  • Sarah Harris: Sarah joined the Board as a Nominative Trustee in 2021. Sarah grew up in Wales and has found her home in London. She has lived in Southwark for almost 20 years and loves the multicultural aspects of the area she lives in. The idea of building relationships and showing hospitality is an important area of her life. She is married and a mum to two boys. Sarah currently provides part time support in finance for a global charity based in the UK and enjoys a challenge or new experience. She has over 25 years of volunteering experience starting in her teens with the RSCPA, then student work and has continued with toddler groups, foodbanks, school governing and now a trustee..

  • Lilian Latinwo-Olajide: Lilian joined the Board as a Co-optative Trustee in 2021. Lilian is a portfolio manager at Impact on Urban Health, and works across their research and development function and health effects of air pollution programme. She is also Director of Delivery and Programmes - Black Thrive.

  • Adele Morris: Adele was appointed as a Nominative Trustee in 2019. She has lived in the Borough for 40 years and is married with 2 grown up children. She has been involved with local community activities for many years, including working for local organisations Bankside Open Spaces Trust, Bankside Residents Forum and West Bermondsey Community Forum. She was instrumental in re-establishing a Parents Group when her children were at Cathedral School, and initiated the refurbishment of Little Dorrit Park. Adele was a councillor in the London Borough of Southwark from 2006 to 2022, and has served as the Cabinet Member for Communities, where she worked closely with the voluntary sector. Throughout her time as a councillor she continued to attend community meetings and support local initiatives, including the rebuilding of Mint St Adventure Playground and keeping the community space at the old Borough Community Centre for use by local residents. Adele has a keen interest in planning and sats on a national, cross party board at the Local Government Association looking at environmental and planning issues. 

  • Andrew Starte (Treasurer): Andrew is a retired entrepreneur with a technical, commercial and financial background across several industries. He has lived within the Charity’s area of benefit since the 1990s and been a Nominative Trustee since 2009. He is currently the Charity’s Treasurer as he has been active in the Stock Market for 35 years. Andrew became a trustee and the Chair of the Surrey Dispensary charity in June 2022.  

  • Lorraine Zuleta: Lorraine joined the Board as a Nominative Trustee in 2021. Lorraine has lived and worked in Southwark since 2000. She was a Councillor for Chaucer Ward for 8 years (2002-2010) and was also a member of the Council’s Executive. She knows and has worked with many local community organisations in different capacities. She is currently the Chair of Rotherhithe Consolidated Charities, where she has been a Trustee and a member of the Investments Committee since 2018. She was a trustee of the Time & Talents charity, where she was Chair from 2012 to 2017.
