AREAS OF BENEFIT

Our charitable funds cannot be used for the whole of the London Borough of Southwark. They are restricted to specified parts of the borough: these are called our ‘Areas of Benefit’.

For St George the Martyr Charity, the Area of Benefit is the former (pre-1965) Metropolitan Borough of Southwark. Essentially this covers The Borough, Bankside (within LB Southwark), Walworth and Newington. A map of this Area of Benefit can be found HERE.

For Surrey Dispensary, the Area of Benefit is that of St George the Martyr Charity plus the former (pre-1965) Metropolitan Borough of Bermondsey. Essentially the latter covers Bermondsey and Rotherhithe. A map of the additional area included in the Surrey Dispensary Area of benefit can be found HERE.
